The biggest challenge in power infrastructure is not generating electricity. It is maintaining unbroken communication and control when substations face high voltage transients, lightning, monsoon conditions, EMI and grid disturbances.

Protection, SCADA, metering and remote monitoring systems depend on deterministic data flow. A single dropped packet, failed gateway or delayed relay event can weaken grid visibility when operators need it most.
